Brackish canal air is gentler than direct ocean spray and much harsher than inland conditions. Treat it as coastal:
- Pale faces, so salt bloom doesn't read
- Stainless or hot-dip galvanised lath and fasteners
- Re-seal every six years or so
- Rinse with fresh water twice a year
